Travel Documents/Program Materials/Others

Please make sure that you have all the documents/personal needs/subsistence allowance prior to your departure for Kuala Lumpur. These should include:

  • Valid Passport with visa stamp of the Malaysian Embassy in your respective country (if visa is needed);
  • Roundtrip ticket (itineraries confimed);
  • Letter of invitation of ADFIM and programme of activities;
  • Personal medicines, if needed; and,
  • Personal Travel accident insurance

Foreign nationals must be in possession of a current passport or other internationally recognized travel document. They must be endorsed for traveling to Malaysia and have a period of validity of at least six months beyond the time of stay allowed in Malaysia. Foreign nationals who require a visa to enter Malaysia must apply and obtain a visa in advance at Malaysian Representative Offices abroad before entering the country.

Yellow Fever vaccination is required for all visitors coming from Yellow fever infected areas or endemic zones except for children under 1 year of age (please bring along the medical booklet).


Arrival Information

For all international delegates that arrive at the Kuala Lumpur International Airport, every gate will pass through the Arrival Hall. As for Kuala Lumpur International Airport 2, it will follow the same procedure. Also, a designated representative of the Association of Development Finance Institutions of Malaysia (ADFIM), the host organization for the CEO Forum will carry the International CEO Forum 2017 Logo. Complimentary airport transfer- in and transfer- out services will be provided. For ADFIAP delegation, all arrival/departure details need to be communicated to the ADFIAP Secretariat c/o: Ms. Sandy Lim via email: sandylim@wordpress-810863-3681396.cloudwaysapps.com with copy to ADFIM Secretariat, c/o: Ms. Azian Long via email: azian@adfim.com.my by 15 September 2017. After September 15, please send your flight arrival details direct to Ms. Sandy Lim We would strongly advise delegates to secure return/onward flights prior to their departure for Kuala Lumpur to avoid any undue delays.


Participation Fee

No participation fee will be charged to delegates for all activities undertaken during the holding of the forum.

Majority of the delegates, unless further advised, will be booked at the Intercontinental KL (pls. refer below for contact details and hotel rates). Hotel accommodation and travel costs will be borne by the delegates.

Program for Accompanying Persons

Accompanying persons are invited to join the following activities:

  • Welcome Lunch, 12 noon to 2pm, October 24, Tuesday (venue to be announced);
  • Gala Dinner, 7:30 to 10:30 pm, October 25, Wednesday (venue to be announced);
  • Closing Lunch, 1 pm to 2:15 pm, October 26, Thursday (venue to be announced); and,
  • Kuala Lumpur City Tour, 2:15 to 5:30 pm, October 26, Thursday. Tourist places that will be included in the tour are: Central Market, Petronas Twin Tower, Handicraft Centre, Cocoa Boutique, King’s Palace, National Monument, National Mosque, Sultan Abdul Samad Building, National Museum).

Registration

Delegates to the International CEO Forum 2017 are requested to register on Tuesday, October 24 from 12 noon to 2 pm (venue to be announced).


Weather/Clothing

Climate is sunny almost year round with an average temperature of between 22°C to 32°C. Humidity is high. Rainfall is variable and falls all year round. It is rare for rain to fall all day: it usually confines itself to short-lived torrential downpours in the afternoons. Expect October weather to be rainy and cooler. Please bring light comfortable clothing as well as jacket and umbrella for the rainy days.

Business or smart casual attire would be most appropriate for attendance to various meetings taking place.


Electricity

The electrical current in Malaysia is on a 240 volts – 50Hz.


Currency and Banks

The country’s regulation requires all delegates to declare the amount of local and foreign currencies in their possession on arrival into and departure from Malaysia. Travelers Declaration Form (TDF) for this purpose can be obtained from any Malaysian Embassies / High Commission, Malaysian Tourism Promotion Board Office and all entry / exit points in Malaysia.

Exchange rate of US$1.00 to Malaysian Ringgit is approximately: US$1.00 = 4.2969 MYR as of August 2017.


Departure Arrangements

All delegates are requested to reconfirm their flights at the Forum Secretariat Office (venue to be announced later). If you need further assistance, please feel free to contact ADFIM Secretariat Team c/o Mr. Muhamad Badri Othman “Badri” c/o email address: badri@adfim.com.my and Ms. Azian Long “Azian” c/o email address: azian@adfim.com.my. All delegates will be brought to the airport for their respective departures. The ADFIM Secretariat will issue a circular note informing delegates on what time they need to be at the hotel lobby prior to their respective flight departures.
